Its almost an 80% acceptance rate here, many people get in who aren't ready for the type of work that is expected from students here. For me, I got into all 3 schools that I applied to, and I would genuinely suggest that students make sure that they were involved in high school, and that they got "good" SAT and ACT scores. I also suggest early admittance. I loved that I got to know before the new year if I was going to UMW. Take a lot of weight off of your back!

Right now the schools acceptance rate is pretty high. It's not that difficult to get in but once you get here the classes are pretty rigorous, causing some people to drop out first semester. One great thing about Mary Washington though is that you can make your college experience as challenging as you want. They are very flexible and helpful so that you can make the journey your own.

I graduated high school with a 3.3 gpa and I easily got into UMW. Be careful though, the transfer rate at UMW is EXTREMELY high so they accept as many people as they can to rake in the money. This being said, If you wouldn't apply to UVA or Tech don't apply to UMW. The rigor is intense. I struggled A LOT! Lots of busy work and awful teacher. Basically a teach yourself school.
